Object Search Instructins

OBJECT SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS

To search the Tartarus Database for a particular object by its name, simply enter the object's name and press RETURN or click on the SEARCH button. To insure that all possible sequences for the desired object are found, enter a SPACE wherever it may appear in different ways of writing the object's name. Also substitude '-'(minus), '+'(plus) and '_'(underscore) with a SPACE (' '). This search is NOT case sensitive (both UPPER and LOWER case will work).

For example, to search for an object NGC526+122_A, one should enter:
ngc 0526 122 a

In the search, every SPACE is converted into a wild character, and therefore all possible variations of the object's name are found.
